About: INTRODUCTION
Baysgarth Sixth Form is comparatively small, with 68 students in Years 12 and 13 in October 2008. The small size allows students to be valued and known. There is a heavy investment in pastoral care and a student's education and individual needs are always paramount.

Since September 2008, Baysgarth Sixth Form has been part of the Brigg and Barton Consortium.

PHILOSOPHY
The Sixth Form aims to provide a smooth transition between a student's school and adult life, a time which is both exciting and challenging. Students experience an adult atmosphere where they become role models and create a sense of aspiration for younger students.

Additional Information: QUALIFICATIONS
Most students study three or four A level/BTEC subjects in Year 12 and most continue with three in Year 13. Each subject has four timetabled hours per week. A minimum of an extra two hours study in school and three hours at home per subject is expected each week. An hour of community work is timetabled in the first term of each year and students are encouraged to participate in some sporting activity.

Acceptance into the Sixth Form is dependent upon GCSE results, with a minimum of a grade C required in the subject to be studied. However, in some cases entry to the course can be without a GCSE in that subject, for example, those subjects that are not available lower down the school.

FACILITIES
The Sixth Form Centre has a large common room equipped with IKEA furniture and a pool table. This area gives students space to socialise and relax. Students are also given a shared locker and a post tray.

There is a well-equipped kitchen where students can prepare food and drinks. There is also a large work-room equipped with networked computers and a printer. This ensures that there is always space for quiet private study. Another room in the Sixth Form Centre has a library area where university prospectuses and information about other higher education courses are available.

GENERAL
Students are given a specially-designed Sixth Form planner which helps them to stay organised. Rewards, for example high street shopping vouchers, are given to those students who show commitment to their community activity.
