Case Study 1
Progression onto higher learning or employment is a key strength in most curriculum areas of the college with overall success rates being good and above the benchmarks for Specialist Colleges and well above the benchmark for General FE Colleges particularly at Levels 1 and 2.The college is proud of its track record of ensuring that learners develop the skills required by industry and that they are indeed ready for employment and all full time vocational programmes include a significant amount of work experience off site and within employers's facilities.
Individual success is strongly supported. For example equine student Jodie will be representing Great Britain in show jumping and former horticultural student Laura has recently secured full time employment at Highgrove - Prince Charles residence.
Our students are also encouraged to enter national competitions and have gained prestigious awards from the Farmers Club of Great Britain, the Environment Agency and the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
Many of our further education learners stay with us for degree level study and gain success from foundation degree to full honours degrees in their chosen subject.
