Case Study 1

STUDENT SUCCESS!

As I didn't finish my last year of secondary school and decided not to go to College to do my GCSE's for personal reasons, I found myself a bit stuck about what I was going to do with my life. I thought that I wouldn't stand a chance of getting a decent job with a good wage as I didn't have any qualifications and hardly any work experience.

I decided to go to Connexions to see if they had any training opportunities, they put me in touch with Chamber Training. Within a couple of days I had an interview with Sue Raynes who explained to me what Chamber Training do, how they are funded and what qualifications I would get once I had finished my apprenticeship. I had to complete some initial tests and in a couple of days she rang me with an interview for a position at North Lincolnshire Council, Building Control.

I was offered the apprenticeship position at Building Control and my Assessor helped me to get through my Level 2 Business Administration qualification quickly so that I could apply for a permanent position within my section.

Chamber Training really helped me in all aspects of my life. Not only did they help me to gain qualifications so that I could get a good job, but they also helped me to have more confidence in myself and with other people, not to mention the skills and knowledge I have also gained. I was so happy with Chamber Training and all of their staff because not only were they very helpful, they were all kind, understanding and went out of their way to help me when I know they didn't have to. Especially people I worked closely with like, Hayley Robinson and Sue Raynes. This is why I have decided to further my education with Chamber Training and have now progressed onto the Level 3 in Business Administration. I am hoping to use this to further my career and try to go for a supervisory role.
