Additional Information: The sixth form at SJN is part of Brigg Sixth Form College and is run jointly by Sir John Nelthorpe School and the Vale of Ancholme Technology and Music College. It offers a range of courses at Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced level, as well as some BTEC courses. In September 2008, we started to run some courses in collaboration with Baysgarth School in order to widen Provision. The Brigg schools were among the first in the area to establish a federated Sixth Form with a fully-integrated and jointly-resourced timetable. A comprehensive range of A and AS-levels is on offer, catering for all abilities and a wide range of interests and aspirations. For those wishing to follow a vocational route, Applied courses in Art and Design are available. Students in the Brigg Sixth Form have open access to a wide range of resources on both sites. We have a dedicated Sixth Form centre and lecture rooms, as well as common rooms with good facilities. The academic success of our students is excellent. There is an enviable record of progression into Higher Education, including a well-established Oxbridge tradition. Employment prospects are enhanced through close links with Connexions. Brigg Sixth Form students have many opportunities to broaden and enrich their educational experience. We offer a series of residential courses, day visits, fund-raising events and work experience placements - in the UK and overseas as an integral part of our sixth form course.
