About: Community Learning Services offers a range of both full & part-time further education programmes as well as workbased training and adult responsive personal development activities.The Service works across 4 main sites. Workbased training is delivered mainly at the Freeman Street Resource. A wide range of other Further Education and Adult Responsiveness programmes are sited at the Thrunscoe Centre, Cleethorpes, Scartho Centre and the Whitgift Centre, Croslands Road. Additionally the Service provided education and training based at various satellite centres including local schools, childrens centres and community centres.Following a multi agency approach the Service works to engage with the wider community to raise confidence and build self esteem. The programmes provide space for the learner to enjoy quality learning time and the approach gives a friendly face and offers valuable first rung pathways into further opportunitiesOur success rates are consistently above the national average and in 2007-08 we have seen our best results yet, This success is built around a dedication to our learners and offers a level of support to ensure you succeed and maximise your potential.

Case Study 1
Deborah Rhodes, 18, has recently won a career makeover after attending a training, education and recruitment exhibition at Grimsby Town Hall organised by the Grimsby & Scunthorpe Media Group.
Deborah was awarded a new set of work clothes from Marks and Spencer, a laptop, interview skills training and a chance to study for an NVQ with North East Lincolnshire Council.
Deborah, who wishes to study business administration, said: "I was shocked at first. I couldn't believe it. It's great for me though as I can now get at a better shot at a career I want."
The organiser of the event Lynne Hope said: "The response has been fantastic and we hope that people realise the opportunities that are there for them."
Deborah received her prizes from Marks and Spencer Store Manager Mark Robson, Lynne Hope, Exhibition Organiser, Susan Simpson, NVQ Curriculum Manager NELC and Tracey Short, customer assistant.
