Adult Education Services
Adult Community Learning and Work Based Learning creates opportunities for adults and their families to value and enjoy quality learning. There are Adult Education Services in North and North-East Lincolnshire, who provide advice, guidance and training for adults from beginners/introductory level to more advanced courses, some which can be done just for fun and others leading to accredited qualifications, across a broad range of subject areas.
How to choose the right course
Whether you need advice about your choice of course, or need information and guidance which will help you to find a course which will meet your needs, we will be happy to help you. Whether it is spelling or computing, a family course; a chance to enjoy learning new skills, or the first step on the way to a new job, our centre staff are there to help you make sure that the course you choose is the right one for you. You can contact the centre of your choice by telephone, e-mail or in person. Pre course information sheets are available which provide further details. Learner Services
The success of learners is highly valued, and it is important to ensure that students are enrolled on the best course to meet needs. Qualified and trained staff are available who can advise on a range of learning support services available. These include:
- Childcare provision – some centres offer creche provision.
- Practical help and support for learners with a disability.
- Financial support with course and exam costs – there are funds available to help give financial support to those on low incomes and those eligible for fee reductions. These can be used to help with buying course materials, equipment, books etc. Ask to find out if you are eligible.
- Information and advice on what to do next - as part of our commitment advice will be provided about further courses that can be progressed to, whether it is to advance the skills that have been learned or to start on something new. If we are unable to give you the information and advice you need we will introduce you to those who can.
