Step by Step Guide
to the Lincs2 Online Application Process
STEP 1 - Logging In
Click on the Login/Register button at the top of this page.
If you have an allocated username and password log-on using these (please note year 10 and 11 pupils will be given these in school), or alternatively register through the Click here button.
Once logged-in your personal page will appear with the Personal Profile, My Applications, Change Your Password and Contact Connexions icons.
STEP 2 - Personal Profile
Click on the ‘Personal Profile’ icon, this will bring up a new page called My Personal Profile.
- Click on Personal Details and add/amend your personal information as necessary and then click on ‘Save’ to update.
Note, a tick will appear in the box next to Personal Details, to indicate that all the mandatory information has been uploaded, if a tick doesn’t appear it’s because the form hasn’t been fully completed and then you need to check that all the headings with an asterix have been answered fully.
- Click on Subjects or Vocational Courses Studied, complete this section by inserting details of the exams you will be taking/have taken, then click the ‘Save’ button.
- Click on Interests, Experiences and Achievements, complete the four sections within this page, this is an opportunity to promote yourself and your achievements. Use capital letters, full sentences and check spellings. Use the ‘Tips’ tabs to find out the kind of information you should put into each of the 4 sections. Click on ‘Save’ to update.
- Click on My Wish List. This is where you identify the courses you may wish to apply for. Use the ‘Find Courses’ or ‘Find Providers’ options located in the menu on the left hand side of the page. When you find a course you’d like to put in to your Wish List, click on the ‘Add to Wish List’ icon located on the course information page at the top, once clicked the icon will change to ‘Course Added’.
Note, you can add as few or as many courses as you want in to your Wish List, it doesn’t mean you have to apply for them all.
- Complete Health and Equal Opportunities Monitoring, remember to click on the ‘Save’ button.
Once My Personal Profile has been completed, you can then apply for your chosen course/s.
Step 3 - My Applications
Click on the ‘My Applications’ icon, followed by the ‘Create New’ button.
A box will appear asking if you want to ‘Import Personal Profile’ tick this and then click ‘continue’, your Personal Profile information will appear in your application with the exception of Course choices.
- Click on ‘Course choices’. The courses in your wish list are displayed, simply click on the ‘Add Course’ button alongside the course to select those you wish to apply for.
Note, you can apply for several courses at one provider on one application but need to do separate applications for different providers.
- Insert your preference if applying for more that one course eg 1,2,3
- Complete the free text box headed ‘why have you chosen this course(s)?’, then click the ‘Save’ button
Once you have ticks in all 6 boxes, you can then use the options at the bottom of the page to review your application, by clicking on ‘Preview Application’ or ‘Print Application’.
Step 4 - Sending the Application
Once you are happy with the content of the application, it can be sent by clicking on ‘Send Application’
You need to read the statements on this page and place a tick in the box that asks if you have reviewed your application, and then click ‘Submit’. At this stage your application will be sent automatically.
It is important that you click ‘Logout’ before you leave your personal applications area.
