Community Learning Services (CLS) offers a range of both full & part-time further education programmes including 16-19 study programmes and apprenticeships. CLS works across 2 main sites - Freeman Street Resource Centre and Thrunscoe Community Centre.
A wide range of learning opportunities for people aged 16+, either to gain a qualification or improve skills are available. Additionally, CLS provides education and training based activities at various satellite centres including local schools, Children's Centres, community centres and employers' premises. Following a multi-agency approach CLS works to engage with the wider community to raise confidence and build self-esteem. Programmes provide space for the learner to enjoy quality learning time and the approach gives a friendly face and offers valuable first rung pathways into further opportunities.
Our success rates are consistently above the national average. This success is built around dedication to our learners and offers a level of support to ensure they succeed and maximise their potential.

What Makes Us Different
CLS is different as we like to offer our learners the ability to explore their potential. We have the National Careers Service as part of our service who can help with CV, job advice and career direction.
Support is available to help you progress and succeed in your learning.
Both Freeman Street Resource Centre and Thrunscoe Centre offer on site parking, free for learners.
Freeman Street Resource Centre: The bus routes that are close by are the 9 and 3 service. These routes are from both Grimsby Town and Cleethorpes.
Thrunscoe Centre: The bus route 4 service runs directly down Highgate but there is also the 12 service that runs on Trinity Road, which is a 3-5 minute walk to the centre.
