Employability Support for Young People
Young People’s Support Services (YPSS) have a team of NEET Practitioners who support unemployed young people aged 16-18 (up to 25 if you have an active Education Health Care Plan or are/have been Looked After by the Local Authority) with finding and moving into provision.
Making important decisions about your future can be difficult and if the plans that you had have not worked out it can be hard to think about what other options you may have. Or if you have a problem that is preventing you from getting where you want to be it can be hard to know where to find help. This is where YPSS NEET Practitioners can help.
NEET Practitioners can offer:
- One-to-one mentoring support over a period of time to help you get to where you want to be and overcome any problems that stop you accessing work/training.
- Information, advice and guidance on college courses, training and job opportunities and how to access these.
- Support with how to apply for jobs (application forms, preparing a CV, covering letters, interview skills/techniques).
- Access to a level 6 qualified Careers Adviser if you need some specialist information/advice on routes into specific careers paths or vocational areas.
