Course Summary

The free Distance Learning Level 1 Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings qualification is suited to someone who has just begun or is thinking of working in either Health and Social Care or with young people. You will gain the knowledge and understanding of what is involved in working in these different settings.

This course is aimed at support workers, residential and domicilary workers, childcare or early years workers, health care assistants and voluntary or unpaid carers.

Course Details

In the free distance learning Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings course you will cover:

Unit A – Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare

Unit J – Understand the principles and values in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.

Unit R -Awareness of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.

Unit T – Introduction to communication in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets, or typed using electronic templates, which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 4 assessments each taking 2 weeks to complete.

Entry requirements

Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
