Course Summary
The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Allergy Awareness course is suitable for anyone who wants to understand allergies, the cause of them and how to respond in the case of an allergic reaction.
This course contains 3 units in total, of which 2 are mandatory. For the final unit there are 3 options available, your choice will depend on your circumstances with regards to your interest or employment. The following are the options:
Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care
Allergy awareness for those working with children
Allergy awareness for those working in the service sector
Course Details
The following units are covered in the free distance learning Allergy Awareness course:
Mandatory Units:
Unit 1: Understanding allergens, allergies and intolerances (MANDATORY)
Unit 2: Food labelling and packaging (MANDATORY)
Optional – Please choose 1 unit from the following:
Unit 3: Allergy awareness for those working with children (OPTIONAL)
Unit 4: Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care (OPTIONAL)
Unit 5: Allergy awareness for those working in the service sector (OPTIONAL)
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Allergy Awareness course is assessed in the following way:
Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates, which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.
You will be required to submit 3 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.
Entry requirements
Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.
We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.
