How will it be delivered and assessed?

The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills course is assessed in the following way:

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses will be typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with online materials to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 2 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.

You will also need to record a video of yourself, in a role play situation, in a helping relationship demonstrating the skills you learn. Any learners who select this option will need to submit their video along with their first assessment.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to video yourself, you can identify an appropriate witness who can observe you demonstrating the core counselling skills and provide a witness testimony. An appropriate witness is classed as any person who has relevant experience, knowledge, or qualifications in counselling skills. Please contact the team for further information.
