Course Summary
The free distance learning Level 2 Principles End of Life Care course will help learners identify, develop and formally recognise their knowledge and skills surrounding the care of patients, friends and families during this sensitive time of life. Whilst it is an ideal qualification for those who are already employed within the healthcare or adult social care sector, it may also be suitable for anyone who is caring for a loved one during their final stages of life.
Some of the units you will study on this course are:
Understand how to work in end of life care
Principles of care planning in end of life care
Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
End of life care and dementia.
Course Details
On the free distance learning Level 2 Principles End of Life Care course, you will learn the following units:
Unit 1: Understand how to work in end of life care
Unit 2: Principles of care planning in end of life care
Unit 3: Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
Unit 4: End of life care and dementia
Unit 5: Understanding the role of the care work in time of death
Unit 6: Understanding loss and grief in end of life care
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets, typed using electronic templates, which are provided at induction, or typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with workbooks or online materials to assist with assessments.
You will be required to submit 3 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.
Entry requirements
Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.
We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.
