This distance learning course will give you the knowledge to understand how to be excellent in customer service and how this applies to hospitality roles, including the legislation, professional personal standards and effectiveness of working in teams.

Course Details

On the free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Excellence in Customer Service for Hospitality course, learners will understand how the hospitality industry operates effectively, and how important customer service is to the industry. Legislation and what is expected of employees in this industry is also discussed in this course.

The following units are covered in this course:

Unit 1 – Principles of customer service in the hospitality sector

Unit 2 – Understand effective teamwork in the hospitality sector

Unit 3 – Understand legislation and guidance relevant to the hospitality sector

Unit 4 – Understand professional personal standards in the hospitality sector

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 2 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.

Entry requirements

Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.

If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.

We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.
