Course Summary

The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness course is aimed at anyone working in a health or social care environment, particularly those who support or have contact with older people who have an increased propensity to falls. It will also be useful to individuals who support family members or friends who are at risk of falling.

Learners will study the following units:

Understand falls within a health and social care context

The risk factors and causes of falls

Falls assessment and prevention

Managing falls.

Course Details

On the free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness course, you will learn the following modules:

Module A

Unit 01 – Understand falls within a health and social care context

Unit 02 – The risk factors and causes of falls

Module B

Unit 03 – Falls assessment and prevention

Unit 04 – Managing falls

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 2 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.

Entry requirements

Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.

If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.

We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.
