Course Summary

The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques course is aimed at team leaders and/or project managers wanting to improve business performance through continuous professional development of employees and their skill set.

Learners will develop an understanding of lean organisation techniques in business, develop their knowledge and understanding of business improvement tools and techniques and understand what makes and effective team including how to handle conflict.

Learners will study the following three units:

Working in Business Teams

Lean Organisation Techniques in Business

Business Improvement Tools and Techniques.

Course Details

On the free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques course, you will learn about the characteristics of an effective team and the benefits and drawbacks of different team structures. You will also learn about how to improve the effectiveness of team working and the role of the team leader.

Unit 1 Working in Business Teams

Understand what makes an effective team

Be able to work effectively in a team

Understand the role of the team leader

Unit 2 Lean Organisation Techniques in Business

Understand the concept of a lean environment

Be able to implement the productivity needs analysis

Be able to produce a process map

Unit 3 Business Improvement Tools and Techniques

Know about continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen)

Understand the principles and techniques of workplace organisation

Be able to use visual indicators to improve the work environment

Know ways to eliminate variance from processes in the workplace.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.

The Lean Organisation Management Techniques course requires you to undertake an analysis of your own team’s effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. It also requires you to produce a work document using the Kaizen principles and undertake a productivity needs analysis of your own team/organisation.

You will be required to submit 3 assessments each taking 3 weeks to complete.

Entry requirements

Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.

If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.

We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.
