Course Summary
This programme will provide you with an introduction to electrical installations. It has been developed to support career progression into either electrical installation or engineering (although predominately electrical route) through a range of practical and theory-based learning activities. Throughout the course you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work within a domestic, commercial and building services environment. You must pass a colour blind test to be eligible for the course.

Installations of wiring systems and enclosures
Communication within building services engineering

60% Assessment - Coursework
40% Assessment - Exam
Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification in Engineering, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress on to study a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Technology (Installations). Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment in the engineering industry including an apprenticeship. In the future you could work in electrical maintenance or electrical installations.
