Course Summary

This course may be a bespoke programme in small groups or could also be a mainstream course at Entry Level or above in a particular subject. This will be discussed at interview and students will be placed on the most appropriate course and level.

A bespoke programme of study introduces learners to a variety of subjects with the aim of developing and improving independence as well as shaping future career decisions and a personal progression pathway. Group sizes vary in numbers and the level of learners while support is focusses on preparation for adulthood. Second and following years of the course allow students to specialize in subject and career areas of interest with the aim of progressing in a particular subject, a supported internship or a traineeship. Support is tailored to each individual learner based on needs.


Course Details

The bespoke entry course will include life skills such as travel training, communication, teamwork, self-management, personal care and future plans and targets with the option of looking at vocational subjects such as Animal Care, Hair and Beauty, Catering, Computing, Construction Trades and Motor Vehicle with a view to specializing in one of these subjects. Work experience and support for the next stages of education or employment are focuses during the course along with continued development of independence skills. Learners will receive support that is tailored to them throughout the course.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Vocational subjects are generally assessed practically with projects, assignments and oral and written questions.

There are no entry requirements for entry courses – suitable programmes will be discussed at interview.
