Course Summary
This apprenticeship will prepare you for work as a golf greenkeepe. As an apprentice you will have a job and a wage whilst building up knowledge and skills within the golf greenkeeping industry. Following completion of this course you will also be eligible to join the British and International Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA).
Course Details
- Preparing golf courses for play, including removing morning dew, raking bunkers, moving tree markers and cutting new holes on greens
- Applying turf treatments to produce quality playing surfaces
- Maintaining and renovating bunkers
- Preparing and using equipment to maintain and renovate all turf surfaces
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed through an end point assessment (EPA) and graded pass, merit or distinction. Please note that the duration does not include the EPA.
Entry requirements
You will need appropriate employment in the golf-greenkeeping industry. It is preferable that you have a minimum GCSE grade 3/D in English and Maths.
Equipment required
- Stationery such as pens and paper
- An electronic device to access online learning, i.e. a laptop
- Boots and appropriate outdoor wear for practical sessions
