Are you looking to pursue a career in nursing, care, residential, youth, social or community work? If so, this work-related qualification is an ideal choice. You will develop an impressive knowledge base across a wide range of care environments and put theory into practice on work placements.

Year 2 units:

Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Social Care
Enquiries into Current Research
Work Experience
Promoting Public Health
Psychological Perspectives
Caring for Individuals with Dementia
Assessing Children's Development and Support Needs

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed through assignments and external exams. You will learn from a mix of theory and practical sessions, enhanced by guest speakers and relevant visits.

You will normally be in college three days a week. You will undertake 100 hours of work experience.

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade 4 or C or equivalent, including English and Maths, or a relevant BTEC Level 2 / First Diploma. One satisfactory reference and a clear Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check are also required.
