Course Summary
This course focuses on the development of knowledge and practical skills needed for working in the Plumbing industry. It will prepare you to enter a plumbing apprenticeship programme or into employment.
A plumber has the skills and knowledge to use a range of pipes including copper, plastic barrier, low carbon steel, waste and rainwater pipes. These are jointed and bent for the installation of bathroom suites, central heating systems and rainwater systems. You will gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge that are important when you are working as a plumber or progressing to further learning or training in this area.
Employer involvement is mandatory on this course and the College will help secure you a placement.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
