Student support

We aim to develop the whole person with a strong emphasis on academic excellence and leadership development. We believe that enhancing a young person’s confidence will greatly impact their future successes and therefore offer an extensive enrichment package.

We pride ourselves on our strong pastoral system which we believe allows every member of the Academy to feel part of a family.

We care about every individual and want all to succeed be that in applying for top universities, apprenticeships or gaining employment.

High quality guidance is important to the life of the Academy Sixth Form. It ensures those in Years 12 and 13 are given the best possible chance to reach their university of choice or pursue their preferred career path.

We aim high and our students do likewise.

For Year 11s already at Havelock, we offer a familiar place that will have seen them excel in their studies and given unprecedented access to extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities through our sponsor the David Ross Education Trust.

For those new to the academy, we offer a safe, supportive environment where each student is known to staff. Progress is regularly monitored and our young people are encouraged to do their best in small, focused classes. We have a dedicated careers advisor and an enrichment officer who has access to world-class opportunities. There is also a strong emphasis on leadership development to increase confidence. Students may help young readers or coach sport, for example.

Transport

All students are entitled to apply for the 16-19 Bursary Fund which can be used for travel costs to/from the Academy.
