Learning Centres - Grimsby Institute

The Learning Centres in Grimsby, Immingham and Louth are part of the Grimsby Institute Group and provide a wide range of courses for adults (age 19+) in IT, Employability, Maths, English as well as other related courses. You can study at your own pace with the help of tutors if required. The courses are free and the centres are open at times that are convenient for everyone with a flexible approach as to when you attend.

The Grimsby Institute is North East Lincolnshire's dynamic provider of Further and Higher Education, offering students from across the county and surrounding regions with a world-class learning environment, offering students the chance to study full or part-time at further or higher education in a diverse range of subjects now including A levels at Career 6 in Westward Ho. 

The Institute – across its entire seven sites – was rated as "GOOD" by Ofsted inspectors on their visit in November 2013.  They highlighted involvement of students, culture of success and often outstanding levels of teaching as being of a high quality.

The Grimsby Institute Group (GIG) is one of England's largest providers of Further and Higher Education, with a rich history of developing innovative training and education solutions for the community.  With campuses in Grimsby, Louth, Skegness and Scarborough the Grimsby Institute Group offers an amazing range of provision to meeting local need and demand.  The vast array of training options include Further and Higher Education choices offering Apprenticeships, community provision, business training, work-based training and commercial activities.

The Community Learning Centres in Grimsby, Immingham and Louth provide free and flexible learning for adults enabling people to progress to further qualifications or enhance their leisure time. 

Our Nuns Corner Campus, located in the centre of Grimsby, is the main provider of vocational 
training in the region and is home to the Engineering & Renewable Energy Centre, a brand new £6 million Sports Centre and amazing new premises for Grimsby School of Art, being unveiled in 2014.

 
Nuns Corner is also home to the £20 million University Centre Grimsby. UCG opened its doors in 2011 and offers a dedicated home for our Higher Education degree programmes that we offer in partnerships with the University of Hull.
