Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme is a voluntary, non-competitive and flexible programme of cultural and adventurous activities for young people aged 14 to 25.

There are different sections of activities to choose from including:

  • Volunteering
  • Gaining new skills
  • Physical activities
  • Taking part in an expedition
  • Working away from home in a team

The scheme is open to anyone over the age of 14 and is divided into 3 different awards: gold, silver and bronze, depending on age.
