What is a Garden Centre Assistant?
A Garden Centre Assistant works in a garden centre or nursery caring for plants.
In this job you might:
- Unload deliveries and put stock out .
- Plant seedlings.
- Look after plants for sale, including weeding, watering and feeding.
- Help customer find what they are looking for.
- Give help to customers on plant care and help on which plants to buy.
- Keeping the garden centre clean and tidy.
You need to be able to:
- Learn about plants and how to care for them.
The workplace and what it might be like:
- You might work in a garden centre.
- You may have to wear a uniform or something to protect your clothes.
- You will work outside in all weathers.
