Course Details

This level 2 qualification aims to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children up to the age of 7, with applied knowledge in the early years (0 – 5.) This qualification meets the Department for Education’s Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce. Additionally, you will also complete a Paediatric First Aid Qualification.

You will be able to experience opportunities to manage and improve your own performance and develop appropriate competence to meet employer expectations. There are also opportunities to take part in practical sessions in our state of the art nursery and sensory rooms, and to learn Makaton sign language. Throughout the year you will attend a work placement to consolidate and practice using your knowledge and skills.

Key skills that you will develop include: safeguarding, health and safety, child development, how to assess and plan sessions and reflective practice.
