Course Summary

Content creation is a growing industry. From print to screen, content creation is an essential part of any businesses marketing activity. This apprenticeship allows the development of a broad range of skills in a variety of content creation disciplines. It is a role that can be found in both creative and non-creative industries. This can be in any business creating content to engage with its audience.

A content creator is responsible for developing and creating written and audio visual content that can be used across a variety of platforms and media. This may include social media, broadcast or in print. Working to the organisations or customers brief, they research, prepare and develop the messaging to maximise audience engagement. They capture the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer, client or business. The content they create can be used as part of media, advertising, documenting and marketing campaigns.

They simplify and tailor a message to the audience to suit the purpose. These can be used across different platforms and channels. An interest in technology and creating content is a must. In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders throughout the end-to-end content creation process.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

As part of the Level 3 Content Creator apprenticeship standard, you will learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours which will support you for your end-point assessment. You will take part in a combination of activities, such as face-to-face classroom-based sessions, remote learning sessions, work shadowing and online learning, to support your learning and development

If successful, you will be required to undertake training sessions with Avant Skills Academy throughout the length of the apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

  • Appropriate personal presentation including clothing, hair and personal hygiene.
  • Practical, organisational and social skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A good sense of humour/amicable nature and communication skills whether dealing face to face with customers or speaking over the telephone.
  • Reasonable level of literacy and numeracy is required
  • Interviews and initial assessments including diagnostics will be carried out with Avant before any Apprenticeship is confirmed.

Your career starts with the apprenticeship and it doesn't stop there! Your apprenticeship can lead you on to a range of opportunities within the organisation that employs you. With experience, you could move into editorial team management or general information management roles. You could also work on a freelance basis, and set up your own business. With further training, you may have the option to move into related areas, like website development, design or training.
