As an A Level History student, you will investigate the complexities of Communist Russia (1917 to 1991) and the People’s Republic of China (1949 to 1976), and explore British history with a key focus on protest, agitation, and reform from 1780 to 1928, while coursework will focus on the abolition of the slave trade in Britain. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in incredible overseas trips to Athens or Rome, as well as get to know British history better with a visit to the Pankhurst Centre in Manchester. As part of your studies, you’ll also experience university-style learning through lectures, seminars, and workshops at the University of Hull’s acclaimed Wilberforce Institute for the Study of Slavery and Emancipation
