Course Details
Find your style with our Professional Chef and Restaurant and Customer Service course that will give you the foundations to develop your skills both in the kitchen and providing excellent customer service. It's not just about cooking because you will get the chance to be trained in front-of-house and table service roles as well. Alongside the training in everything from fish, meat and poultry to baking, patisserie and cake decorating, you'll get the opportunity to be part of our team, giving first-class service and food from our state-of-the-art facilities including the new training kitchen which will be used to produce dishes for the Gallery Restaurant.
You will be working alongside our staff in the popular Gallery Restaurant as well as Indulgence the bakery at the Nuns Corner campus. Our learning is built on hands-on experience and you'll get that through our industry-standard Neff demonstration kitchen as well as the opportunity to take on work experience placements at 150 national companies and take college annual trips and visits from guest speakers. We're lucky to have companies in our local area that develop and sell products to high-street names such as Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Asda and to live in one of the east coast's busiest resorts with many pubs, restaurants and hotels looking for quality hospitality staff. This course is designed to introduce cooking skills in a professional environment. Kitchen, restaurant and customer service skills will be focused to enhance the experience. Learners will also gain transferrable skills such as communication, time management and teamwork which will work well in a professional environment. Once complete you will have a good understanding of the industry in preparation for progression to the next level.
