You’ll explore all aspects of business, from marketing and management to finance and innovation. Designed to be practical and inspiring, this course helps you develop a real entrepreneurial mindset while understanding how successful businesses work—from start-up to scale-up.

With strong links to industry, guest speakers, and real-world projects, you’ll gain insights into how businesses operate and grow, preparing you for a variety of career paths in the sector.

Expertise and knowledge in business disciplines and activities will open up the world to you. Business knowledge acts as the foundation of most industries and is integral to career choices from administration, management, right through to the likes of your favourite vloggers all of whom need business knowledge to do what they do.

During this course you will look at key aspects of the business world including finance, business planning, brand promotion, marketing and project management. As you progress through this course you will become involved some excellent practical activities to help build your skills and give you a taste of the real business world. You will also complete a events module where you will bid for a set brief which are allocated to groups and you must pitch to the brief which could include charity events or acoustics evenings to name a few. These are all focused on building great practical experience and employability skills such as teamwork, communication, self-management and more.

You will learn about working in an office, the importance of team work, communication and organisation. Units of the qualification include Marketing, Financial accounting, Communication, Employment Law, Human Resources, Team and organising a Business Event.

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths

Successful students may progress onto the next level in their chosen subject, into employment or an apprenticeship, or to Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby or other other University.

Employment opportunities can include: Accountant, Management Consultant, Social Media Manager, Financial Analyst, Administration, Human Resources, Events Management to name a few.
