Course Summary

Want to design the latest app that gets everyone talking? Maybe web design and development is your passion. Whether it is e-commerce, digital animation, cyber security or 3D modelling, our specially designed courses could be your first step into that world. Our computing courses are project based so you will be hands on from day one and will get to experience real work environments on placements tailored to your skills.

Course Details

At Levels 2 and 3 you will go on to learn valuable interpersonal skills, business and project management, object-oriented programming and app development, 3D modelling/motion graphics, database administration, cybersecurity and wide-area networking, along with other additional options available such as masterclasses.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in work experience. Trips and talks have included London Comic Con, and guest speakers from Ardman Animations, GCHQ, Sony and Microsoft our courses offer you a unique insight into the industry.

By the end of the course, you will have a portfolio of work to professional standards. This portfolio will show your knowledge on computing, and this can be used to take to interviews for either higher education or employment.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for our courses depend on the specific requirements of each Programme of Study and an individual’s previous experience, which will all be discussed during the interview process. The following is a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry on to a particular level of a course.
