Course Details
Learn all about styling techniques and the latest trends as you get the perfect foundation needed for this essential career. Working in our state-of-the-art professional salon, you get the chance to develop skills in conditioning, cutting, shampooing, styling, treating the hair and scalp. Along the way there will be the chance to see guest speakers from within the industry and trips to places like Wella Paris, LancĂ´me Paris, the Professional Hair & Beauty Show and the Clothes Show Live. You will also develop a range of personal and transferable skills such as professionalism, time management, verbal and non verbal communication and self-management principles.
You will also take on work experience potentially locally or nationally as well as getting the opportunity to compete in competitions. Creativity is key in this field and 31% of vacancies are hard to fill due to a skills shortage, so start your journey with us. As you mature in this, our Graduate Salon will enable you to practice on a wide range of clientele, build customer service skills and experience in handling money and stock control.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.
