Course Summary

Throughout the course, you’ll explore key subjects such as anatomy and physiology, safeguarding, equality and diversity, and the life stages of development all in our exceptional industry standard facilities. Whether you’re caring for children or supporting adults with complex needs, you’ll build the confidence and understanding required to enter the health & social care sector or progress to further study.

Course Details

A fast-paced and changing sector, health and social care professionals need to be proactive and flexible. Essential for our growing and aging population, you will earn about all aspects of care for both adults and children. Covering topics that include life stages, public health, equality, diversity and rights in care work, values and planning and supporting and protecting adults. There will be classroom learning as well as the chance to get first hand practical experience gaining an insight into working in a hospital in our clinical skills room with hospital beds and life like simulated patients. In addition you will have the opportunity to take part in work experience in appropriate settings.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.

Level 1 – 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above
