Course Summary
A foundation course ideal for learners not yet ready for Level 2 or Level 3 study. Build your confidence and core skills in digital media including video, photography, web design, and digital advertising. Successful completion allows progression to Level 2 courses in Media, Computing & Games, or Art & Design.
Course Details
The Digital Media course will include aspects of TV production, photography, games design, computing and graphics. This will give students an idea of what all the subjects include to help them decide what to study further. Learners receive instruction and training on the core skills required by industry, Universities and the working world. Technical, digital and key practical skills, using equipment from industry. You will also gain great professional and transferrable skills such as communication, time management and teamwork.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.
Entry requirements
Level 1 – 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above
Your next steps...
Successful students may progress onto the next level in their chosen subject, into employment or an apprenticeship, or, after a level 3 qualification, to Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby or other other University.
