Course Summary
If you’ve ever dreamt about creating your own custom vehicle designs, then this course is for you! As well as learning how to paint, you’ll get the chance to repair vehicles in the accident repair centre, gaining hands-on industry experience. Our course embeds a good working approach, drawing from the knowledge and skills of the tutors from the automotive industry. All our courses focus on the future, including carbon awareness and electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, operation and replacement. Offering hi-tech equipment to train and prepare for employment.
Course Details
Our new Motor Vehicle Accident Repair course will allow you to learn skills in spray painting and body work repair, with the opportunity to work on light and heavy vehicles in our state of the art, real-time workshop at the Nuns Corner Campus. The Accident Repair Centre includes a drive in booth for spray painting cars and a paint room for mixing and measuring paint. You will get the chance to create artistic designs on cars as well as panel beating and an element of mechanical work to facilitate aspects of repair.
A range of skills you can gain include: Skills/Knowledge in Health, Safety; Good Housekeeping in the Automotive Environment; Basics of Vehicle Body Fitting; Basics of Vehicle Mechanical Electrical Trim; Fundamental Vehicle Body Repair Techniques and Introduction to Vehicle MAG Welding.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
This course will take place in the motor vehicle workshops at Nuns Corner working on real cars with tutors who have extensive professional experience,

Entry requirements for our courses depend on the specific requirements of each Programme of Study and an individual’s previous experience, which will all be discussed during the interview process. The following is a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry on to a particular level of a course.
Math's and English Language at grades 1 - 3 or equivalent.

Progression could be to the next level in the same subject area or similar.
Many learners progress into employment in the motor industry, some have gone onto the Motorsports College. One learner from two years ago now has a job with a racing team.
