Plastering Level 2

Plastering is a skill that is much in demand and good plasterers are an important part of the construction industry. You will learn from industry experts who make the job look very easy and who will give you all the knowledge you require to succeed at this very important job.

Get skilled in a trade on our plastering course. This is a vital career, requiring precision and an eye for detail. From the first day you will develop the fundamentals of an in-demand job. Along the way you will learn about surface preparation, safe working practices, plastering materials and technical skills needed to do internal and external plastering as well as dry lining. There will also be time spent taking educational trips to local firms and we often have guest speakers who come in and talk about the industry.

When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.

Entry requirements for our courses depend on the specific requirements of each Programme of Study and an individual’s previous experience, which will all be discussed during the interview process.
The following is a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry on to a particular level of a course.

Math's and English Language at grade 4 or above or equivalent.

Successful students may progress onto the next level in their chosen subject, into employment or an apprenticeship, or, after a level 3 qualification, to Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby or other other University.
