Course Summary

A-level English Literature students explore canonical and modern works, including Shakespeare’s Othello and a range of drama, poetry and prose texts. The subject allows students to develop their love of reading, engage with established critics and sharpen critical perspectives on literary concerns. Students will consider the interplay between text and context, and will learn to express themselves logically and coherently in their analysis. Through their coursework, students will learn to progress their thinking skills, write academically and produce an essay based on their own independent critical study.
