Course Summary
A-level Dance is a dynamic qualification which encourages students to develop their creative and intellectual capacity, alongside transferable skills such as team working, communication and problem solving. The main aim of the Dance A-level course is to give students a broad knowledge of Dance which they can articulate through the study of choreography, performance and appreciation. Over the course students will study the following: composition; performance; dance practitioners; two dance time periods; dance health and safety and an analysis of two set works.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
One exam and one practical examination to a visiting examiner.
Written Paper – 2hrs - two study periods and two set dance works (50%)
Practical - Solo Performance, Quartet Performance and Group Choreography (50%)
Entry requirements
Our entry requirements are as follows:
• 5 x GCSEs at minimum Grade 4
• GCSE Grade 4 in English and Mathematics
• GCSE Grade 5 in an academically relevant qualification to the chosen A-level subject
