Course Summary
A-level Law encourages students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the English legal system and areas of both private and public law within the law of England and Wales. They will develop and apply the techniques of legal method and reasoning to analyse and offer answers to problems, based on legal principles, legislation and case law. Students will further be able to demonstrate critical awareness of the influence and operation of the law in society.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
Three exams of two hours each
Paper 1 – The Legal System and Criminal Law (33%)
Paper 2 – Law Making and the Law of Tort (33%)
Paper 3 – The Nature of Law and Human Rights (33%)
Entry requirements
Our entry requirements are as follows:
• 5 x GCSEs at minimum Grade 4
• GCSE Grade 4 in English and Mathematics
• GCSE Grade 5 in an academically relevant qualification to the chosen A-level subject
