Course Summary
In A-level Sociology students explore a variety of topics in order for you to understand how we developed into the society we are today, including: the role of the education system and its relationship to social class, gender and ethnicity; the causes of crime and the role of the criminal justice system; the relationship between ownership and control of the media and the different ways minority groups are represented in the media.

Three exams of two hours each.
Paper 1 – Education with Theory and Methods. (33%)
Paper 2 – Topics in Sociology (33%)
Paper 3 - Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods. (33%)
Entry requirements
Our entry requirements are as follows:
• 5 x GCSEs at minimum Grade 4
• GCSE Grade 4 in English and Mathematics
• GCSE Grade 5 in an academically relevant qualification to the chosen A-level subject
